My Unfinished Business Series of 5 novellas examines how women handle romantic relationships that end badly. Do the ex-lovers still think about each other? Would they want a do-over? What would they do differently if given the opportunity for a fresh start? Each of my novellas examines what women do when given another chance to make things better for the ones they profess to love…even when that chance comes ten or fifteen years after the breakup.

In HORSEWOMAN (Unfinished Business Volume 1), Melanie Burton and Heather Spencer-Poole lived together. They broke up because Mel enrolled in the police academy to become the cop that Heather, the daughter of the police chief, doesn’t want. After the breakup, Mel earns promotions, becoming a sergeant in narcotics. Meanwhile, Heather, a nurse at Presbyterian Hospital, resigns to raise a son and becomes a domestic partner with a detective. Heather’s father, Archie, feels guilty about the lies he told Mel ten years ago when she inquired about Heather. He told Mel that his daughter discovered men, got pregnant and was going to marry one. When Mel is injured in the line of duty, Archie sees a chance to make up for all his lies. He invites Mel to his ranch upstate to recuperate. He knows Mel doesn’t have a woman and neither does his daughter. He hopes the women will allow love to happen again but can it with all the obstacles the women must overcome?
In contrast, LITTLE HELLION (Unfinished Business volume 2), police officer Yolanda Benjamin comforts a woman and her baby at the scene of a fatal accident. She stays with the woman, Sabrina Miller, and baby Ellie through the ordeal of identifying her dead lover at the hospital. She even changes little Ellie’s diapers. She leaves the next morning. Over the years, Sergeant Yolanda Benjamin wonders what could have been. She has a second chance, when she escorts “Baby Ellie,” now a rambunctious ten-year old, to the hospital to repair a broken wrist without realizing who she is until Sabrina appears. Hot sex comes before romance and their romance is bumpy with many issues along the way. Will love tame a wild heart?
In the novella ADAM (Unfinished Business Volume 3), Julia Walters receives word that Adam, the son of her ex-lover Nikki Barrett, is dying, Julia rushes over to Nikki’s house to offer her assistance with Adam and also hopes to find closure to the romance that ended abruptly four years before. Upon arriving at Nikki’s house, Julia discovers that her ex-mother-in-law, Mavis, is hoping Julia will stay and relieve an exhausted Nikki from taking care of Adam, who is weak and unable to walk, and toddler Theresa, an unexpected surprise to Julia, who she becomes attached to right away. The more Julia becomes committed to keeping this family in crisis together, the more Nikki rebuffs Julia’s advances. Can Julia win back the woman she never stopped loving? FIRST TIME (Unfinished Business Volume5) is more erotic than the first two novellas. Investigating Detective Devin Jones had a one-night stand with one of her police academy classmates, Amanda Graham, 15 years ago. Devin wanted to take it to another level but Amanda didn’t want that. The next morning, Amanda claimed what “they shared last night didn’t mean a damn thing and Devin better not mention it again.” Then Amanda swore she was into men not women. Her staunch denial of the romantic night they shared, hurt Devin deeply. As time passed, the pain lessened.
Now, Devin learns she’s been assigned as the lead investigator in a high profile murder case in Lieutenant Amanda Graham’s homicide unit. One of the mayor’s wealthy campaign supporters, was murdered in an alleyway mainly used by prostitutes and their johns. Amanda’s superiors want the case cleared yesterday. They don’t care how she does it. The only problem is her detectives have no leads, no suspects and no motive. All they have is a victim with ejaculate in every orifice of his body. Can Devin and Amanda work together long enough to solve the case or will old hurts rear their ugly heads and make resolution impossible?
