I wanted to write a book about woman discovers a woman who looks exactly like her dead wife. How would she react?
The woman, wealthy realtor, Amelia Roberts grows curious about her dead wife’s body double and follows her. She learns the woman Brett Mc Kinsey works as an art restorer for a small firm. Unbeknown to Brett, her employer is going bankrupt. Brett will be losing her job and her health insurance in 6 months. Only the owners know the issue and have not told their employees. Amelia continues to spy on Brett, hoping to find a way to help her.
Amelia wonders if finding her dead wife’s look-alike is a good thing for her? Can she see Brett Mc Kinsey for who she really is and accept her for being different than her dead wife, Ruby? One night, Amelia manages rescue Brett from a fall in the street and the result is a broken ankle. Amelia now has an excuse to bring Brett home and does.
Amelia is a true control freak, ignores Brett’s protests about invading her privacy. She uses her medical friends to reset Brett’s broken ankle and examine the baby growing inside her. She finds out where Brett lives then brings her clothes and current art projects to her own estate. In going over Brett’s employer information, Amelia discovers the potential bankruptcy. Amelia wants to help and decides to invest in the company to save it from insolvency. Secretly, Amelia hopes Brett will be grateful for everything she’s done. Afterall, Amelia saves Brett from unemployment, homeless and on the street soon while she’s pregnant.
At first, Brett talks to Amelia explaining who she is and how she’s not Ruby. Amelia won’t listen. Brett has had enough. Who wants to compete with a dead woman? Brett leaves for part unknown, only telling the housekeeper, doctor and driver but swearing them to secrecy. Now, Amelia is going crazy with fear. She can’t find Brett and her baby whose is due in four weeks. What does Amelia do next?
